Mr. & Mrs. Johnny & Tiera Garfield...Wedding...September 9, 2011

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon on the coast at the Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad for Johnny & Tiera Garfield's Wedding Ceremony & Reception on one of the most popular wedding day's of the year, 9/10/11!

The skies turned blue around 11:00 AM, just in time for the ceremony to start at Noon.  The wedding was a Hawaiian / Beach theme.  I played some special island music requests for the seating of the guests and also for the wedding party.  Tiera was escorted by her Dad, Richard, to the Hawaiian Wedding Song. 

Cocktail Hour was outside the Reception area near where the Ceremony took place.  Their guests enjoyed appetizers and cocktails while the Wedding Party took additional pictures.  Once again per their request, their family and friends enjoyed listening to island, beach, and calypso music.

After the Grand Entrance with personalized introductions of the Wedding Party, I told a unique Love Story how Johnny & Tiera first met when they were 7 & 8 years old, playing together in the streets of Carlsbad near Johnny's grandparents house...here some 12 years later, Tiera is with her cousin Bob, cruisin' the old neighborhood and low and behold who is washing his brand new truck, Johnny...the rest is history.  They shared their First Dance to Jack Johnson's, "Better Together"!


It was fantastic working with Dani Solano, their photographer, owner of Dani's Digitals...she really captured some amazing photographs and I thank her for allowing me to share some of them here in this blog.

We started the open dancing with a Longevity Dance...I invited all the couples out on to the dance floor and before the dancing started we found that Tiera's grandparents had been married the longest, 45+ years, they were happy to share some advise to Johnny & Tiera so that their married would last at least that long.  Then everyone danced to "Let's Stay Together"!

Their family & friends had a great time dancing all afternoon under a bright sun & blue sky.


I played requests from Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Kool & The Gang, Commodores, Flo Rida, The Gap Band & many others.

The Last Dance of the afternoon was a special and unique song choice by Johnny & Tiera...

They danced to "We'll Meet Again" by Johnny Cash along with their Family & Friends!

Mr. & Mrs. Matt & Katrina Jackson Wedding, July 23, 2011



It was a beautiful day for a Wedding at the San Diego Botanic Gardens in Encinitas, CA.  I was referred to Matt & Katrina by their photographer, Jennie Edwards with Guided By Imagination Photography.  Jennie & I have worked together in the past and I was looking forward to working with her on this wedding also.

 The ceremony was in the Walled Garden.  Matt & Katrina went non-traditional with their ceremony music.  The Wedding Party walked in to "Marry Me" by Train, Katrina & her Dad walked in to "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, & the recessional was "Marry You" by Bruno Mars...some really neat song choices.

As Matt & Katrina took pictures with family at the Walled Garden, their guests where invited to explore the gardens themselves and then head to the reception location.  Matt & Katrina chose to have classic rock / current hits played for the cocktail hour and dinner music.  Their guests were treated to lucious appetizers by Chef Lance E. Roll of The Flavor Chef.  There were chopsticks on a table with their guests name and table name for them to sit at.  Their tables were named after lyrics from their first dance selection, "The Way I Am" by Ingrid Michaelson.


Katrina's Dad, Bob, did his own vocals / guitar recording of "Grow Old With Me" by Adam Sandler to be played for the Cake Cutting.  We had a lot of FUN dancing all night long with other activities mixed in, Bouquet & Garter Toss, Words Of Wisdom Dance, Centerpiece Raffles & The Shoe Game.  A Photo Booth was set up with props for their guests to take pictures.

Katrina was her own Wedding Planner and did the most amazing job I have ever seen.  She is looking to have a career change and working on certification to be a Bridal Consultant / Wedding Planner and I know will be in demand in the future.  I welcome the opportunity to work with her again in the very near future for her clients.
